From Wrexham with a passion for creation
Oh Hi, I’m Alison, born and raised right here in Wrexham. You might be wondering about the nickname 'Flowerpot' – yes, it’s actually my real name! A loving remembrance of my dad who called me that from birth (my mum too) which was legally added a few years ago. I’ve always been a crafter, a self-taught jewellery maker, and a seamstress. As a Virgo, I pride myself on being a perfectionist. Every piece I create, right down to the packaging, receives my utmost care and attention to detail.
The journey of a self-taught artisan
My crafting journey began at a very young age, and I’ve been developing my skills ever since. Before diving into jewellery making, I was a card maker for a couple of brands that were featured on various shopping channels. My adoration for gemstones eventually led me to this path. The name Carreg Cariad, which means 'love of stone' in Welsh, was a thoughtful suggestion from my fiancé Dean, who is a fluent Welsh speaker. My brand's style is intentionally kept simple, classic, and elegant, reflecting the timeless beauty of the materials I use.
Crafting unique pieces with a personal touch
Ideas often pop into my mind spontaneously; I quickly grab my pen and pad to sketch out the design before it fades. When I create, I strive to make something truly unique, something that no one else in the world has made. It’s important to me that the wearer feels incredibly special owning a one-of-a-kind piece. I want my creations to turn heads and draw admiration. Seeing someone wear a Carreg Cariad piece is, for me, the greatest praise I could ever receive. I often gift my creations, and the joy they bring is immense, which include many celebrities I admire.
